Which Juno Payment Terminal suits a hotel reception?

For most hotel reception lanes the primary recommendation is a portable Android SmartPOS device — it lets front desk staff walk to the guest for check-in, pre-authorisations and settlement, then return to the desk. Where reception uses a fixed lane, a compact PIN pad running over Power-over-Ethernet gives a low-footprint attended device. Both share the same Juno gateway, the same integration and the same connection to Oracle Opera Cloud, so the choice is operational rather than technical.

Do Juno Payment Terminals integrate with Oracle Opera Cloud and Oracle Simphony?

Yes. Juno Payment Terminals connect to Oracle Opera Cloud for hotel operations and Oracle Simphony for restaurant and F&B operations, alongside other Juno-supported PMS and POS platforms. The integration is delivered by the Juno gateway rather than the device firmware, so switching or adding a terminal within a supported family does not require a new PMS or POS integration.

Portable handheld or fixed PIN pad — how do I choose?

Choose portable where staff need to move to the guest — tableside orders, room service, poolside, events and roaming check-in. Choose a fixed PIN pad where the till stays in one place — a permanent reception lane, a hotel shop till or a spa desk. Many properties deploy both: a fixed lane at the counter and a handheld for mobile service. Because every Juno Payment Terminal runs through one gateway, mixing form factors does not add integration or reconciliation overhead.

How are Juno Payment Terminals secured and integrated?

Every Juno Payment Terminal is PCI PTS-rated hardware and runs a hardened firmware image. Each device is integrated end-to-end through the Juno gateway to the acquirer and is operating in production across hospitality customers today. Cardholder data is encrypted at the device and is never exposed to the PMS, POS or property network. Because the integration lives at the gateway layer, adding or replacing a terminal within a supported family does not require the property to rework its PMS or POS integration.

What connectivity do Juno Payment Terminals support?

Portable devices support Wi-Fi and 4G LTE — 4G matters for outdoor environments such as pool bars, events and off-site service where Wi-Fi coverage is unreliable. Fixed PIN pads run over LAN with Power-over-Ethernet, which removes the need for a separate power supply at the till. Bluetooth is available on portable models for peripheral pairing.

Are Ingenico and Sunmi devices available today?

Not yet. PAX is the shipping manufacturer family on the Juno platform today. Ingenico and Sunmi are under active evaluation and appear on the Terminal Selection Guide so operators can see the intended direction. Speak to the 934 team for a current status if either is required for a specific deployment.
